With the end of October approaching, I’m sure you’re getting in the holiday spirit (the IMG team certainly is!). First up: Halloween! The exciting prospects of this one-of-a-kind occasion get event coordinators like us eager to brainstorm and let our creative juices flow. IMG has some suggestions to make your Halloween event a unique and memorable one.
Take advantage of this eccentric holiday to come up with an innovative (no pun intended) theme for your next event and give guests the opportunity to dress out of the norm. For example, maybe our social media savvy friends can throw their bash on a Thursday and make the theme #tbt! Have guests dress in costumes that remind them of their childhood, whether it be John Lennon, Pac-Man, or maybe even their awkward, 12-year-old selves. Incorporate an entertaining photo booth that doubles to promote your event, and décor that stimulates nostalgia among your guests.
If you want to opt for a more classic Halloween theme, maybe entertain the idea of a “Circus Freaks” event that provides guests with streamlined costume ideas and engaging visuals. Have some fun mapping out the venue (maybe you can include circus tents if the event’s outdoors), integrating photo opportunities with themed props (think brand exposure!), or planning a friendly costume contest acknowledging that impressive bearded lady who made you do a double take. You could even include a face-painting station or plant real performers and contortionists amidst the guests- maybe even as the caterers!
