To Innovate or Not: Should We Ban Smart Phones At Events?

Some have called the smartphone the invention of the decade. Now, more and more people are using them to record concerts, product launches, and brand experiences. The pros to allowing smartphones at events is the publicity it will bring. If guests are sharing your content, it will reach a far greater audience. If we choose to ban smart phones at events, it may encourage people to socialize and cater to a more intimate experience. Others promote the ban of smartphones because of privacy reasons or to support the promise of an uninterrupted event experience.

It’s up to you as an event planner to decide whether it’s best for your event to ban smart phones or to ask your attendees to put them on silent mode. Is one better than the other? Tell us your thoughts on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram at @InnovateMkg.
